The main difference between a Posy Pad and a Posy is their overall 3D shape. The Posy is a dome of flowers whereas the Posy Pad is flat.
Fundamentally, this is due to the way that these are constructed. A Posy is created in a dish with a relatively small block of floral foam that stands proud of the dish and the stems can be put in any direction giving it a 3D effect; whereas the Posy Pad is a product one buys from a wholesaler that is a flat(ish) cylinder of floral foam and is much bigger. The flowers are much more limited as to the direction that they can be put in; a skilled florist can create a slight profile or ‘cushion effect’.
